Bermuda Police Service (BPS) officers were on patrol across the island overnight as part of the Halloween policing operation.
Although officers responded to numerous calls for service including reports of objects/eggs thrown at vehicles, the BPS is pleased to report that the event passed without major incident, injury or any significant anti-social behaviour.
Around 7:20pm Monday, October 30th police and first responders were dispatched to a reported single vehicle car crash on South Road in Devonshire near the junction with Devonshire Bay Road.
It appears that the car involved was being driven in an easterly direction when it struck a wall and overturned.
The driver, believed to be a 22 year old Smith’s parish man, was not injured and apparently exited the vehicle without assistance.
At last check earlier this morning (October 30th) the injured 29 year old woman said to be from Warwick and believed to be the driver in Saturday night’s fatal car crash was in stable condition in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.
The crash claimed the life of 30 year old Rakai Augustus and a Family Liaison Officer is assisting the deceased’s family as inquiries continue.
Around 9:55pm Thursday, October 26th police and first responders were dispatched to a reported collision on Angle Street in the City of Hamilton, near the junction with Cedar Avenue.
It appears that a motorcyclist struck a parked truck.
The injured rider, believed to be a 34 year old Pembroke man, was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment.
At last check earlier this morning (October 26th) the 30 year old Pembroke man injured when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a car around 12:10am Saturday, October 14th at the junction of Elliot Street and Union Street in the City of Hamilton remained in stable condition in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.

At last check earlier this morning (October 23rd) the 30 year old male motorcyclist from Pembroke injured in a collision with a car that occurred around 12:10am Saturday, October 14th at the junction of Elliot Street and Union Street in the City of Hamilton remained in stable condition in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.

At last check earlier this morning (October 19th) the three male occupants of the car involved in a collision with a truck that occurred around 7:50pm Tuesday, October 17th on St. John's Road, Pembroke near the junction with Tatems Hill continued their recovery at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.
The 21 year old car driver from Pembroke was in stable condition on a general ward while his passengers, a 22 year old Pembroke man and a 22 year old Warwick man, remained in stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit and in stable condition on a general ward respectively.
Around 7:35pm Tuesday, October 17th police and first responders were dispatched to a reported sudden death at an Eastdale Lane, Southampton residence where a 63 year old man was found in an unresponsive state and later pronounced dead at the scene by an on call doctor.
Identification of the deceased is anticipated in due course, after his next of kin has been notified. Inquiries are underway regarding the circumstances of this sudden death but foul play is not suspected at this time.
Around 4:55pm Monday, October 16th police officers were dispatched to a reported disturbance on Church Street in the City of Hamilton, in the vicinity of City Hall and the city bus terminal, where a group of young people were involved in an altercation.
The combatants, believed to be students, were quickly separated by two plain clothes police officers on patrol in the area at the time.
The young people involved then dispersed before additional officers arrived on scene.
