Police responded to a report of an attempted burglary that took place on Steele Lane in Paget yesterday at around 12:50pm. The victim stated that she was home when she noticed a male trying to gain entry into her dwelling. She then called out, asking the man to identify himself however the suspect ran off.
As result, police began a search in the area and based on the description given by the victim, they came upon a man in the area who is known to police acting suspiciously.
Police on Sunday at 6:11pm responded to a report of a disruptive passenger on board an inbound British Airways flight. It appears that a male was being very aggressive and belligerent to airline staff and as a result the male passenger once the plane landed was arrested and taken into police custody. A court appearance is expected sometime this week.
The Bermuda Police Service would like to thank the public for their cooperation on the roads over the weekend, as the number of reported collisions was down from 21 last weekend to 10 this weekend.
In addition, 8 people were arrested on suspicion of impaired driving this past weekend, with seven individuals failing the alco-analyser test and one passing it.
The police will continue their highly visible presence on the roads.
At last check earlier this morning (December 7th) the 16 year old girl hurt when the auxiliary (50cc) cycle she was riding went over an embankment along South Road, Paget in the vicinity of Southcote Road around 7:55pm Friday remained in stable condition in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.
A two car collision that occurred around 7:45pm Sunday, December 3rd on North Shore Road, Smith’s parish in the area of Flatts Village resulted in no serious injuries.
The two cars were apparently being driven in opposite directions at the time.
It is now confirmed that three people were involved.
The investigation into the armed robbery involving a bladed article that occurred around 11am Monday, December 4th at Pompano Beach Club in Southampton continues.
Both male suspects were described as light complexioned and 6 feet tall, wearing dark coloured jackets.
There were no injuries reported and the scene was processed by the relevant police personnel.
There were 21 collisions reported over the weekend – 10 reported as damage only, 8 reported as minor injury and 3 reported as serious injury. In addition, 4 people were arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and 39 speeding tickets were issued, with the highest speed recorded at 102 kph. Police continue to be highly visible on the island’s roads, conducting a series of road safety initiatives. However, the public must also do their part and take personal responsibility for their driving and riding behaviours.
A male truck driver injured in a single vehicle crash around 11:10am Thursday, November 30th on North Shore Road in Hamilton parish has been treated and subsequently discharged from the hospital.

At last check earlier this morning (November 30th) the 54 year old Warwick man seriously hurt in a two motorcycle collision at the junction of Middle Road and Ord Road, Warwick around 8:30pm Tuesday, November 28th had been airlifted overseas for further medical treatment – after initially being admitted to the Intensive Care Unit at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital (KEMH).
The other rider involved, a 25 year old Warwick man, was treated at KEMH for his injuries and discharged.
