November 21 - Weekend Report

Injury RTC - At 3:45am on Saturday, Police and first responders attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on Lighthouse Hill in St. George’s near the junction with Great Bay Road. Details about the collision involving a motorcycle are unclear at this time; however the motorcycle rider, a 37 year old Hamilton parish man, was injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact PC Anthony Thurab at the Southside Police Station on 293-2222.

November 14 - Weekend Report

Robbery - Around 12:50am on Sunday, Police responded to a report of a robbery. It appears that around 12:35am the victim, a 34 year old taxi driver from Sandys parish took four unknown men to Seawall Drive in Sandys parish. Once at that location the taxi driver was accosted by the four passengers. They took the victim’s cellular phone before fleeing the scene. The taxi driver was injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. Two of the suspects, an 18 year old Warwick man and a 20 year old Sandys parish man were subsequently arrested in connection with this incident. Inquiries are ongoing.

November 7 - Weekend Report

Robbery - Around 7:20pm on Saturday, Police responded to a report of a robbery on Par-La-Ville Road in Pembroke. It appears that four young women aged 15 – 16 years old were walking along Par-La-Ville Road near the junction with Rosebank Road when one of them was accosted by an unknown man brandishing what appeared to be a firearm. The suspect demanded the teenager’s BlackBerry cellular phone before fleeing the scene on foot with it heading toward Bermudiana Road. None of the teenagers were injured.

October 31 - Weekend Report

Burglary - Around 11:30pm on Saturday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Ballast Point Road, St. George’s residence. It appears that sometime between 10:30am and 11pm that day an unknown culprit gained entry into the home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a 42” Panasonic flat screen TV. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

October 24 - Weekend Report

Injury RTC - At 4:35am on Sunday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on North Shore Road in Devonshire near Lookout Lane involving two cars. It appears that a car was traveling along North Shore Road when it collided with a parked car. The driver of the car, a 27 year old Pembroke man, sustained a minor arm injury. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving; however he passed the alco-analyser test. The parked car was apparently unoccupied at the time. Both vehicles were extensively damaged. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

October 17 - Weekend Report

Burglary - Around 5:10am on Sunday, Police responded to a report of a burglary at Grotto Bay Beach Hotel in Hamilton parish. It appears that an unknown man brandishing a bladed article and a blunt object gained entry into a guest room at the premises. The intruder demanded money from the occupants and made good his escape with a quantity of cash. The victims, a 60 year old man and a 61 year old woman (husband & wife), were injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment; however the visiting American couple’s injuries are not believed to be life threatening. The suspect is described as a 6’ tall man wearing a black hat.

October 10 - Weekend Report

Robbery - Around 7am on Saturday, Police received a report of a robbery. It appears that around 6:45am that day the complainant, a 33 year old Pembroke man, was walking in the area of St. John’s Church graveyard in Pembroke when he was accosted by an unknown man brandishing a bladed article. The suspect took a quantity of cash from the complainant before running towards Marsh Folly Road and escaping on a black motorcycle in the Pembroke Marsh area. The Pembroke man was not injured. The suspect is described as approximately 5’11” tall of stocky build wearing all black clothing. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

October 3 - Weekend Report

Fatal RTC - The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 22 year old Adam Goodwin of Smith’s parish. Around 4:10am on Sunday, Police and first responders attended a report of a serious single vehicle road traffic collision on South Road in Smith’s parish near the junction with St. Mark’s Road. It appears that Mr. Goodwin was riding a motorcycle traveling along South Road when he lost control and collided with a wall. Mr. Goodwin sustained serious injuries and was rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where he subsequently succumbed to those injuries. He was pronounced dead at 4:32am by an on call physician at the hospital.

September 26 - Weekend Report

Damage Only RTC/Impaired Driving - Around 5:15am on Saturday, Police attended a reported single vehicle damage only road traffic collision on Pitts Bay Road in Pembroke near the junction with Turnstile Lane. It appears that a car was traveling along Pitts Bay Road when it collided with a wall. The driver, a 30 year old Pembroke man, was not injured; however he was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. The car received extensive front end damage and the wall was also damaged. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

September 12 - Weekend Report

Burglary - Around 12:50am on Saturday, Police received a report of a burglary at Tools & Equipment on North Street in Pembroke. It appears that around 12:45am that day an unknown culprit gained entry into the premises and was confronted by the victim, a 64 year old Paget man, who was working late inside the store. Apparently the intruder attacked the Paget man with an object before escaping. Nothing appears to have been taken from the store. The victim was rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment of serious head injuries.
