Single Vehicle Collision in Southampton - Around 2:40am on Sunday, police and first responders attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on Middle Road in Southampton near the junction with Lighthouse Road. It appears that a car was traveling along Middle Road when it collided with a wall and overturned. The driver, a 24 year old Southampton man, was injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening. The car was extensively damaged. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
Impaired Driving - Around 1:30am on Sunday, police attended a report of an impaired driver on Middle Road in Southampton near Hightime Drive. It appears that a car was traveling along Middle Road in an erratic manner when it was caused to stop by another car traveling in the area at that time. Police were called to the scene and a 70 year old Southampton man was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving as a result. He subsequently failed the alco-analyser test and was detained before being released on police bail. The Bermuda Police Service would like to commend the vigilant motorists that reported this incident for their actions.
Missing Juvenile: Eron Hill - The Bermuda Police Service is continuing to appeal for the public’s assistance in locating 15 year
old Eron Hill. The teenager was last seen on Saturday, September 3rd at his Sandys parish residence and is described as brown skinned of medium build with a short afro. He was also reportedly seen on Tuesday, September 6th in the City of Hamilton and is known to frequent the Spring Hill, Warwick area as well as the Deepdale, Pembroke area.
Robbery - Around 8:45pm on Saturday, police responded to a reported robbery in the Hermitage Road, Devonshire area. It appears that the victims, a man in his 20s and a teenage girl, were sitting in a parked car in the area when they were attacked by a group of unknown men brandishing bladed articles. Afterward their assailants fled the scene with a quantity of jewelry and a cellular phone. The victims were treated at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital; the teenage girl’s injuries were examined and she was subsequently released while the male victim remains at the hospital receiving medical attention for a leg wound.
Robbery - Around 10pm on Friday, police received a report of a robbery at a residence in the Tribe Road #1, Devonshire area. It appears that around 9:30pm that day at least two unknown men, one brandishing what appeared to be a firearm, entered the garage area of the home and demanded money from five men socialising there. The suspects are described as two black men wearing full face helmets. They made good their escape with a quantity of cash. No one was injured. Officers with the assistance of a K9 unit made a thorough search of the vicinity for the offenders but they were not located.
Update: Sudden Death - The Bermdua Police Service can now confirm the death of 19 year old Jahmeiko Perkins of Schools Drive in Devonshire. Circumstances are as follows:
Shortly after 9am on Saturday morning a motorist was traveling on Parsons Lane in Devonshire about 150 meters west of Pure Water when she came upon the lifeless body of a black male. Police immediately attended the scene and after initial investigations contacted the on-call physician who certified death at 10:30am.
Sudden Death of Aaron Edness - Police can now confirm the death of 24 year old Aaron Edness who died on Friday July 29th. The circumstances are as follows:
At 7:55pm on Friday first responders attended a medical emergency at a residence on Cottage Hill in Hamilton Parish. As a result Aaron was rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where he later was pronounced dead at 11pm by a hospital physician. Foul play is not suspected in the death of Aaron Edness and the Bermuda Police Service extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
Serious Injury RTC in Devonshire - Around 3:30am on Sunday, police responded to a reported serious single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on Montpelier Road in Devonshire near the junction with First Avenue. It appears that a motorcycle was traveling along Montpelier Road when it collided with a wall and a utility pole. The rider, a 26 year old Pembroke man, was injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. His injuries are reportedly serious but are not believed to be life threatening at this time. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
Three Vehicle Collision - Around 5:15pm on Saturday, police attended a reported three vehicle collision resulting in injury at the junction of Reid Street, Spurling Hill and Cavendish Road in Pembroke. It appears that two cars and a SUV collided at the junction. As a result one of the car drivers, a 28 year old woman, was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment of relatively minor injuries. The driver of the other car and the driver of the SUV were not injured. All three vehicles were damaged. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
Witness Appeal: Man Injured After Diving Incident - First responders attended an incident that took place at Admiralty House Park beach area at 5:37pm on Saturday. It appears that the victim, a 41 year old St. George's man, was jumping off the rocks into the water when he was knocked unconscious. He was pulled to the beach by family members. An off duty EMT and nurse began to perform CPR. They managed to get the 41 year old man breathing, however he remained unconscious and the pair continued CPR until the paramedics arrived.
