Reported Gunshots/Suspicious Activity - There were increased high visibility Police patrols throughout the island over the weekend. Stop and searches were carried out at various locations and arrests made for a variety of offences.  However, there were reports of what were believed to be gunshots heard in the Friswells Road, Devonshire area around 6:45pm Friday; the Reid Street/Burnaby Street, Pembroke area around 1:20am Saturday; and The Glebe Road/St. Monica’s Road, Pembroke area around 12:15am today (Sunday). Loud noises were also heard in the Serpentine Road/Trelawney Lane area of Pembroke around 8pm Friday.

December 13 - Weekend Report

Sudden Death - The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 64 year old Stephen Perinchief of Southampton. At 6:50pm on Friday, Police received a report of a sudden death at a Lighthouse Lane, Southampton residence. The Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service also attended the scene. Mr. Perinchief was found in an unresponsive state inside his home by a family member. He was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene by an on call physician at 8:15pm. Inquiries into this incident are ongoing. The cause of death has not been determined and an autopsy will be carried out to assist in determining the cause of death.

December 6 - Weekend Report

Robbery - Around 10:50pm on Friday, Police received a report of a robbery. The victim, a 21 year old Sandys parish man, stated that around 9:45pm that day he was standing next to his Yamaha motorcycle license #BM 724 outside the Warwick Lanes Bowling Alley when he was attached by two unknown men. One of the men reportedly brandished a bladed article. However, the Sandys parish man was not injured. The offenders made good their escape with the victim’s motorcycle via Pearman’s Hill.

November 29 - Weekend Report

Disturbance - At 4am today, Police received a report of a disturbance at Ice Queen in Paget. Officers attended KEMH and spoke with the victim, a 27 year old Warwick man, who stated that earlier he was at Ice Queen when he saw a male friend being attacked by a group of young men. At that time the Warwick man intervened in an attempt to help his friend and was assaulted by some members of the group. The victim sustained stab wounds to his left ear, neck, back and left leg. He was taken to the hospital for treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening at this time. The suspects were described as two brown skinned males wearing blue jeans.

November 22 - Weekend Report

Injury RTC - Around 10:20pm on Saturday, Police attended a reported serious road traffic collision resulting in injury on South Road in Warwick near the junction with Camp Road involving a taxi, a motorcycle and an auxiliary cycle. It appears that the taxi was traveling west on South Road and the auxiliary cycle was traveling in the opposite direction followed by the motorcycle when the vehicles collided. The rider of the auxiliary cycle, a 16 year old young man sustained head injuries and an injury to his right hand.

November 15 - Weekend Report

Witness Appeal – St. David’s Shooting - Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the shooting which took place outside of Southside Cinema around 11:30pm Friday. The victims, a 26 year old Pembroke man and a 24 year old Warwick woman, remain in hospital. Their injuries are not believed to be life threatening at this time.

November 8 - Weekend Report

Injury RTC - At 9:15am today, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of Dundonald Street and Brunswick Street in Pembroke involving a car and a motorcycle. It appears that the car was traveling west on Dundonald Street and the motorcycle was traveling in the opposite direction when the vehicles collided. The rider of the motorcycle, a 48 year old Southampton man, complained of pain to his body and was taken to KEMH for treatment. The driver of the car, a 33 year old Pembroke woman, was not injured. The car received front end damage while the motorcycle was also damaged. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

October 25 - Weekend Report

Disturbance - At 1:55am on Saturday, Police received a report of a disturbance at Bermuda College. Officers arrived at the location a short time later and observed a large crowd present. Some individuals within the crowd were reportedly throwing helmets at each other; however those allegedly involved made good their escape. As a result, Police maintained a highly visible presence in the area until the crowd dispersed without further incident.

October 4 - Weekend Report

Handbag Snatch - Around 11:30pm on Saturday, Police received a report of a handbag snatch. Details remain unclear; however the victim, a 29 year old U. K. woman, stated that around 11:10pm that day she was riding her rental cycle along Harbour Road when two unknown men on a motorcycle rode up beside her, took her white handbag from the rental cycle’s basket and then made good their escape. The visitor was not injured. The handbag contained a quantity of cash, a watch, two cellular phones, an I-Pod and personal items.

September 27 - Weekend Report

Injury RTC - Around 4:20 this morning, Police received a report of a single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on St. John’s Road in Pembroke. Details about what occurred are unclear at this time; however, it appears that a car was traveling along St. John’s Road near Gorham’s when the driver, a 21 year old Pembroke woman, lost control and collided with a house in the area. The Pembroke woman sustained injuries to her head and chest while her front seat passenger, a 24 year old Hamilton parish man, sustained a laceration to his left arm.
