Investigation Ongoing: St. David’s Variety Robbery - The investigation into the St. David’s Variety store robbery that occurred around 9:30pm Wednesday, February 6th is ongoing.

Detectives are pursuing all lines of inquiry, including analyzing CCTV footage, to bring the offender to justice.

Update: Fifth Road Fatality For 2013 - The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 29 year old Jevanie Fubler of Devonshire. Mr. Fubler was seriously injured when the motorcycle he was riding collided with barricades and ended up in an area undergoing roadwork along Frog Lane in Devonshire during the early morning hours of Saturday, February 2nd.

Mr. Fubler was pronounced dead at 7am Saturday by an on call doctor at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital. A Family Liaison Officer has been assigned to Mr. Fubler’s family to assist them at this tragic time.

January 27 - Weekend Report

Reported Serious Collision in Paget - Around 5:10pm on Saturday, January 26th police and first responders attended a reported serious three vehicle collision at the junction of Harbour Road and Salt Kettle Road in Paget. It appears that a car and a motorcycle were traveling along Harbour Road and another motorcycle was exiting Salt Kettle Road when all three vehicles collided.

The rider of one of the motorcycles involved, a 31 year old Sandys parish man, was seriously injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. At last check he was in the Intensive Care Unit in critical condition.

Update: Third Road Fatality For 2013 - The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 25 year old Torrie Baker of St. George’s. Mr. Baker was seriously injured in a single vehicle rental cycle collision around 2:05am Saturday, January 19th on Mullet Bay Road in St. George’s. Mr. Baker was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance where he was pronounced dead by an on call doctor at 3am Saturday.

January 13 - Weekend Report

Two Vehicle Collision in Smith’s Parish - Around 1:30am on Saturday, January 12th police officers attended a reported two vehicle damage only collision near the junction of Middle Road and North Shore Road in Smith’s parish. It appears that a car and a SUV were being driven along Middle Road when the vehicles collided. There were no reported injuries however the car driver, a 28 year old Southampton man, was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. Both vehicles received extensive front end damage. Inquiries into this collision are ongoing and a court appearance for the car driver is anticipated in due course.

January 6 - Weekend Report

Single Vehicle Collision in Devonshire - Around 1:50am on Sunday, January 6th police officers on mobile patrol along Middle Road in Devonshire near the junction with Orange Valley Road encountered an overturned car. The driver, a 45 year old Devonshire woman, sustained minor injuries and was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. The car was extensively damaged. Inquiries into this collision are ongoing and a court appearance for the driver is anticipated in due course.

December 2 - Weekend Report

Arrests Made Following Disturbance in Sandys Parish - Around 9:30pm on Friday, November 30th police officers responded to a reported disturbance on Butterfield Lane in Sandys parish. It appears that a 17 year old Sandys parish man and an 18 year old Sandys parish man were outside a residence when a dispute occurred with other individuals in the area. As a result, both men were assaulted. The victims were taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment of their injuries, which are not considered to be life threatening.

November 18 - Weekend Report

Fire at Bermuda Mechanical Supply Company Ltd. - Around 1pm on Saturday, November 17th police officers and Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service personnel responded to a reported fire at Bermuda Mechanical Supply Company Ltd. on Marsh Lane in Devonshire. The blaze was eventually brought under control by firefighters at the scene. Although there was significant damage reported to the building involved, there were no reported injuries. An investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.

November 4 - Weekend Report

Arrests Made Following Disturbance - Around 3:30pm on Sunday, November 4th police officers responded to a reported disturbance at St. David’s Cricket Club. One male was injured and is being treated at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital as a result. The extent of his injuries is unknown at this time. Several arrests have been made in connection with this incident and inquiries are ongoing. Any witnesses or anyone with any information is encouraged to contact the main police number on 295-0011.

October 28 - Weekend Report

Confirmed Firearm Incident in Sandys Parish - Around 1:30am on Saturday, October 27th police officers responded to reports of gun shots in the Greenfield Lane, Long Bay Lane Sandys parish area. Forensic evidence found at the scene confirmed that a firearm was discharged in that area; however there were no reported injuries.

The area was secured and an active investigation has commenced into this confirmed firearm incident.
