Regular Phone Numbers Restored to Main Police Stations - The normal telephone numbers for contacting the main police stations are operational once again. Members of the public who may need to contact the police can use the regular numbers as usual:
Collision in Smith’s Parish - Around 1am on Saturday, October 13th police and first responders attended a reported single vehicle motorcycle collision on Hermitage Road in Smith’s parish near the junction with Lightbourne Lane. The motorcycle rider, a 30 year old Pembroke man, was injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. He was later discharged from the hospital and arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. Inquiries into this collision are ongoing.
Reported Collision in Southampton - Around 11pm on Friday, October 5th police attended a reported single vehicle collision on Middle Road in Southampton. It appears that a taxi was being driven along Middle Road when it collided with a wall and overturned. The taxi driver, a 52 year old Sandys parish man, reportedly sustained a minor arm injury as a result. There were no other injuries reported and apparently there were no other occupants in the vehicle at the time. The taxi received damage to multiple areas. Inquiries into this collision are ongoing.
Reported Serious Collision in Southampton - Around 5pm on Sunday, September 30th police and first responders attended a reported serious single vehicle motorcycle collision on South Road in Southampton near the junction with Church Road. The motorcycle rider, an 18 year old Sandys parish man, was apparently seriously injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. Inquiries into this collision are ongoing and any witnesses are encouraged to contact the Roads Policing Unit on 295-0011.
Update: Man Arrested After Reported Burglary at Court Street Store - The suspect arrested in connection with this matter around 7pm Friday August 24th, a 29 year old Pembroke man, was treated at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for his injuries and released. However he remains in police custody and inquiries are ongoing by the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit. A court appearance is anticipated in due course.
Update: Two Men Rescued After Marine Incident
The 68 year old Pembroke man and 44 year old Pembroke man rescued by members of the public and police officers after their fishing boat capsized and sank off Devonshire Bay around 5:35pm Friday, August 24th have since been released from hospital.
Near Drowning - At approximately 3:40pm on Sunday police and first responders were dispatched to Admiralty House Beach after receiving a report of a medical emergency involving a 3 year old child. It appears that the child was taken out of the water after almost drowning from swallowing sea water. The 3 year old boy was breathing however he was transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for further treatment and presently is in the Intensive Care Unit where he is listed in stable condition.
The Bermuda Police Service would like to thank the members of the public who performed CPR on the boy.
Reported Serious Collision in Southampton - Around 3:20pm on Sunday, July 15th police and first responders attended a reported serious collision on Middle Road in Southampton near the junction with Lukes Pond Road. It appears that a pedal cycle, a motorcycle and a SUV were traveling along Middle Road when they collided. As a result the pedal cyclist, a 13 year old boy, was injured. The victim was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment; however the extent of his injuries is unknown at this time. The two men in their 20s on the motorcycle received minor injuries.
Collision in Paget - Around 3:55am on Sunday, July 8th police and first responders attended a reported single vehicle collision on South Road in Paget near the junction with Southcote Road. Details are unclear at this time; however it appears that a car was traveling along South Road when it went over an embankment. The occupants reportedly sustained minor injuries as a result. The driver was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. Inquiries into this collision are ongoing.
Update: Reported Serious Collision in Southampton - The 32 year old Southampton man seriously injured in a single vehicle motorcycle collision around 2:30am on Saturday, June 30th along Middle Road in Southampton was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment and at last check remained in the ICU in critical but stable condition. The investigation into this collision is ongoing and any witnesses are encouraged to contact PC Jerry Waterman on 295-0011.
Collision - Around 3:30am on Sunday, May 27th police and first responders attended a reported single vehicle collision in the vicinity of Reid Street and Queen Street in the City of Hamilton. Details about the collision are unclear at this time; however a 19 year old Pembroke man was injured as a result. The victim was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. Inquiries into this incident are ongoing.
