Robbery - Around 12:45am on Saturday, May 19th police attended a reported robbery in the Benny’s Bay Road, Sandys parish area. It appears that two unknown men brandishing bladed articles accosted a 52 year old Sandys parish woman and a 23 year old Sandys parish man. The suspects took a wallet containing personal items as well as a BlackBerry cellular phone. No one was injured during the incident; however prior to fleeing on foot, the suspects also damaged the 52 year old woman’s car.
Reported Serious Collisions - Around 3:55am on Sunday, April 29th police and first responders attended a reported serious single vehicle collision on Cemetery Road in Pembroke near the junction with Serpentine Road. It appears that a car was traveling along Cemetery Road when it collided with a fence and overturned. The driver, a 25 year old Pembroke woman, was injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. There were no other injuries reported. Reported Serious Collision - Around 1am on Saturday, April 14th police and first responders attended a reported single vehicle collision in the Palmetto Road, Roberts Avenue Devonshire area. Details about the incident are unclear at this time; however a damaged motorcycle was found at the scene along with an injured 53 year old Smith’s parish man, believed to be the rider. The victim was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment of his injuries and at last check was in the Intensive Care Unit.
Serious Assault: Update - Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses or anyone with any information with regard to the serious assault that occurred on Friday April 6th in the area of Southampton Rangers Sports Club. It appears that around 6:15pm, police responded to a report of a serious assault. As a result of a disturbance, one man was wounded and conveyed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance. His injuries are not considered to be life threatening. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact 295-0011 or the independent, confidential Crime Stoppers hotline at 800-8477.
Update: Collision in Warwick - Around 9:15pm on Friday, March 23rd police and first responders attended a reported two vehicle collision at the junction of South Road & Tribe Road #2 South in Warwick.
It appears that an auxiliary cycle was traveling along South Road and a SUV was traveling along Tribe Road #2 South when the vehicles collided at the junction.
The auxiliary cycle rider, a 46 year old Pembroke man, was injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. At last check the victim was in stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit.
Collisions - Around 7:15pm on Saturday, March 17th police and first responders attended a reported collision at the junction of North Shore Road and Stepney Lane in Pembroke involving a motorcycle and a jeep. It appears that both vehicles were traveling along North Shore Road when they collided at the junction. As a result both vehicles were damaged and the rider of the motorcycle, a 58 year old Smith’s parish man, was injured. The victim was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment of his injuries, which are not believed to be serious. There were no other injuries reported. Inquiries into this incident are ongoing.
Missing Person William Peniston Located - The Bermuda Police Service would like to thank the public for their assistance in locating 58 year old William Peniston of St. George’s. Mr. Peniston has been located safe and well.
Robbery & Attempted Robbery
Around 2:45pm on Friday, March 2nd a reported robbery occurred in the Summit View Drive, Hamilton parish area. A quantity of cash was taken from a 21 year old Hamilton parish man, who was not injured.
Collisions - Around 5pm on Saturday, February 25th police and first responders attended a reported single vehicle collision on North Shore Road in Pembroke near the junction with Blackwatch Pass. It appears that a four wheeled ATV was traveling along North Shore Road when the vehicle collided with a utility pole. The driver and passenger, a 23 year old Pembroke man and a 23 year old Warwick man respectively, were injured. Both victims were taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. At last check, the Pembroke man was in the Intensive Care Unit while the Warwick man was on a general ward. Inquiries are ongoing.
Collision - Around 1:55pm on Saturday, February 18th police and first responders were dispatched to a reported single vehicle collision on Mangrove Bay Road in Sandys parish. It appears that a rental cycle was travelling along Mangrove Bay Road when it collided with a sidewalk. As a result the rider, a 52 year old Canadian man and his pillion passenger, a 7 year old Canadian girl, were injured. Both visitors were taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment; however their injuries are not believed to be life threatening. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
Stolen Statue Recovered - The Bermuda Police Service would like to thank the public for their assistance in locating the Desmond Fountain statue ‘On The Ball.’ The sculpture was recovered in the Paget area around 9pm Friday, February 3rd. Inquiries into this matter are ongoing.
