At last check earlier this morning (May 29th) the 33 year old male motorcyclist believed to be from Sandys parish injured in a collision with a garbage truck around 11pm Saturday, May 27th on Somerset Road in Sandys parish outside Somerset MarketPlace had been treated at the hospital and discharged.
Last week Mr. Edmund Smith was convicted in Magistrates’ Court of assaulting Inspector Scott Devine outside the House of Assembly on 2nd December 2016.
The 52 year old was sentenced to one year imprisonment by Magistrate Archibald Warner for the offence.
The investigation continues regarding the confirmed firearm incident where a 17 year old male was shot and injured around 11:15pm Friday, May 19th in the North Shore Road, Glebe Road Devonshire area.
It is now understood that the teenage male victim was part of a gathering of individuals at a residence in the neighbourhood when the incident took place.
Around 1pm Thursday, May 18th police and first responders were dispatched to a reported single vehicle rental cycle crash on Harrington Sound Road in Hamilton parish near the junction with Quarry Road.
It appears that the rider and pillion passenger of the two wheeled rental auxiliary cycle, believed to be a 58 year old man and a 56 year old woman, struck a wooden railing in the vicinity of Shark Hole Hill.
The investigation and appeal for witnesses continues regarding the fatal collision that claimed the life of 23 year old Jokeem Richardson, which occurred around 4:15pm Wednesday, May 10th on Blue Hole Hill in Hamilton parish.
In particular public bus passengers and other motorists that were traveling through the area at the time, as well as persons waiting at the bus stops in the area near Grotto Bay Beach Resort that witnessed the collision, are encouraged to come forward and contact the Roads Policing Unit on 247-1788.
Around 12:30pm Wednesday, May 17th police and first responders were dispatched to a reported collision in the Malabar Road, Sandys parish area.
Initial information suggests that the collision involved a rental cycle and a car in the vicinity of Watford Bridge.
Apparently the female rider and male pillion passenger of the rental cycle were injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment.
A 29 year old man has been arrested in connection with the confirmed firearm incident that occurred around 6pm Sunday, May 14th in the Court Street, Elliot Street Pembroke area.
A search warrant executed Monday evening in the King Street, Pembroke area – part of a proactive police investigation into the matter – led to the suspect being apprehended without incident.
Traffic diversions remain in effect until further notice along a section of North Shore Road in Smith’s parish near the junction with Jennings Road following a crash involving a van and a utility pole that occurred around 2:35pm today (May 12th).
There have been no reported injuries and BELCO personnel remain on scene addressing the damaged pole.
Around 10am today (May 11th) police and first responders were dispatched to a reported serious collision on Middle Road in Warwick, near the junction with Burnt House Hill.
It appears that a car and a rental cycle were involved.
The injured rider, believed to be a 68 year old male, was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance and later pronounced dead.
Inquiries are currently being conducted into a series of commercial property burglaries reported over the weekend.
Sometime early Sunday morning (May 7th) and early Monday morning (May 8th) intruders entered premises in the Victoria Street and Parsons Road Pembroke areas, the Lovers Lane Paget area, the Middle Road Warwick area and the Middle Road Southampton area.
