2 Arrests, Investigation Continues: Two Firearms Incidents Wednesday Night

Detectives from the Serious Crime Unit are investigating a report of gunshots in the area of Happy Valley Road, Pembroke. At about 8:05pm in the evening of Wednesday 28th November, a 58 year old member of the public was walking on the road, when two males on a motorcycle rode past him and brandished what is believed to be a firearm. The firearm was discharged in the direction of the man, who was not struck. The intended victim was able to run away, pursued by his attackers & was successful in eluding them.

Armed Robbery at Coco Reef Hotel in Paget

The Bermuda Police Service responded to a report of an armed robbery that took place at Coco Reef Hotel at Stonington Circle, Paget at 2:24am this morning.

It appears that two males wearing helmets and brandishing bladed articles entered the hotel and made demands of cash. As a result, the males were given an undisclosed amount of money and they subsequently left the building.

Seven Impaired Motorists Arrested: November 22nd Until November 25th

A total of seven motorists were arrested for impaired driving from Thursday, November 22nd until Sunday, November 25th.

All seven were arrested during road sobriety checkpoints conducted from Friday night (November 23rd) until early Saturday morning (November 24th), with one of the seven apprehended after a pursuit.

There are no road sobriety checkpoints scheduled for this weekend.

Road sobriety checkpoints conducted by the Roads Policing Unit from Thursday night (November 22nd) until early Friday morning (November 23rd) ended with no arrests for impaired driving.

Members of the public are reminded not to drive or ride under the influence as road sobriety checkpoints continue tonight (Friday, November 23rd), Saturday, November 24th and Sunday November 25th in Hamilton parish, Devonshire, Pembroke, Paget and Southampton.

Injured 86 Year Old Female Pedestrian Recovering on General Ward

Around 5:50pm Wednesday, November 21st police and fellow first responders were dispatched to a report of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian on Dundonald Street in the City of Hamilton.

It appears that an 86 year old Pembroke woman was attempting to cross the road outside Masters Limited when she was struck by a car being driven past the store.

Driver Stable in ICU After Three Vehicle Collision Tuesday Morning

Around 9am Tuesday, November 20th police and fellow first responders were dispatched to a reported three vehicle collision on Middle Road in Warwick near the junction with Riddell’s Bay Road.

It appears that a car driven in the westbound lane of Middle Road collided with another car and a van, both being driven in the opposite direction.

The driver of the westbound car, believed to be an 88 year old Southampton woman as well as the driver of the van, believed to be a 55 year old Sandys parish man, were taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment.

Sudden Death of 42 Year Old Man in Sandys Parish [Updated]

Around 11:15am today (November 20th) police officers and Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service emergency medical technicians attended a Somerset Road, Sandys parish residence to check on the welfare of an occupant.

Sadly, a man believed to be the 42 year old resident was found in an unresponsive state inside an apartment on the property.

He was later pronounced dead at the scene by an on call doctor.

Driver Recovering in Hospital After Van Overturns in Hamilton Parish

Around 4:40pm Thursday, November 15th police and Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service personnel were dispatched to a reported single vehicle crash on North Shore Road in Hamilton parish near the junction with Radnor Estate Road.

It now appears that a van driven in the eastbound lane of North Shore Road struck and damaged a wall then overturned, ending up on its side. At first a car was thought to have been involved.

Investigation Continues: Scott’s Hill Road, Sandys Parish House Fire

The Bermuda Police Service and the Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service continue to investigate the circumstances of a fire that occurred around 5:20pm Thursday, November 1st at a Scott’s Hill Road, Sandys parish residence where the lifeless body of 66 year old Mr. Erroll Cross was discovered. The two storey home was destroyed by the blaze.

Investigators are still appealing to the community for any witnesses or any persons who may have seen or spoken with Mr. Cross prior to this unfortunate and tragic incident.

Sudden Death of 50 Year Old Man in Hamilton Parish [Updated]

Around 3:35am today (November 12th) police and fellow first responders attended a reported medical emergency at a Mount Wyndham Drive, Hamilton parish residence.

It appears that a 50 year old male resident was found in an unresponsive state inside an apartment on the property.

He was later pronounced dead at the scene by an on call doctor.
