Inquiries Continue: Burglary at Crawl Hill Esso Service Station

Police are conducting inquiries regarding a reported commercial burglary that took place sometime between 11pm Sunday, July 1st and 6am Monday, July 2nd at the Crawl Hill Esso service station in Hamilton parish.

It appeared that the suspects gained entry into the building and removed a Digicel card sale machine, chicken tenders and bacon.

Only the Digicel card sale machine was subsequently recovered. It had apparently been moved by the suspects to another part of the premises.

19 Year Old Man Airlifted Overseas After Sunday Morning Collision

At last check this afternoon (July 2nd) a 19 year old Sandys parish man who was injured as the passenger on a motorcycle involved in a collision with a car on South Road in Paget near the entrance to Elbow Beach around 10am Sunday, July 1st was airlifted overseas for further medical treatment after initially being admitted to the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit – while the rider, a 49 year old Sandys parish woman, was treated for serious leg and foot injuries and was recovering in stable condition on a general ward at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

Fatal Devonshire Collision Investigator: Constable Stephen Paynter

The investigation regarding the fatal collision that claimed the life of 66 year old Mr. William Moniz continues and the investigating officer is now Constable Stephen Paynter.

Mr. Moniz was seriously injured when the pedal cycle he was riding collided with a male motorcyclist on Middle Road in Devonshire near the junction with Vesey Street around 11:50pm Saturday, June 23rd and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit in critical condition, where he remained until his death on Wednesday afternoon (June 27th).

Driver Treated & Discharged After Car Overturns in Sandys Parish

Around 4:20pm Wednesday, June 27th police and fellow first responders attended a reported single vehicle car crash on Middle Road in Sandys parish near the junction with Store Lane.

It appears that a 75 year old Sandys parish woman was driving a car along the westbound lane of Middle Road, in the vicinity of Hog Bay Park, when the vehicle struck a hedge on the opposite side of the road and overturned, ending up on its side.

Seriously Injured Male Pedal Cyclist Remains in Critical Condition [Updated]

At last check this morning (June 27th) the 66 year old Devonshire man seriously injured when the pedal cycle he was riding collided with a motorcyclist around 11:50pm Saturday, June 23rd on Middle Road in Devonshire near the junction with Vesey Street remained in critical condition in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.

Inquiries continue and any witnesses that have not already come forward are still asked to call the main police telephone number 295-0011.

Sudden Death in Warwick

Around 11am today (June 26th) police and fellow first responders were dispatched to a reported medical emergency at a Forest Hills Drive, Warwick residence.

It appears that a caregiver discovered a male resident in the home’s swimming pool in an unresponsive state.

CPR was commenced and continued as he was rushed to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance, but the man was later pronounced dead.

Male Rental Scooter Rider Critical in ICU After St. George’s Crash

Around 10:50pm Sunday, June 24th police and fellow first responders attended a reported single vehicle rental scooter crash on Wellington Slip Road in St. George’s.

It appears that the rental scooter rider – believed to be a 44 year old St. George’s man – struck a low wall before continuing on to an area of grass near the roadside where he struck a metal post.

Two Bermudian Men Arrested in UK on Terrorism Related Charges

The Bermuda Police Service can confirm that two Bermudian males that have been living in the UK for a significant period of time were arrested on terrorism related charges after UK authorities were alerted to a Bury, Greater Manchester residence.

The two men, said to be 24 years old and 23 years old by UK media, were remanded into custody and are scheduled to appear in a UK court for a preliminary hearing on June 29th.

Investigation Underway Into Incident at Hamilton Princess & Beach Club

The Bermuda Police Service is aware of an incident that took place recently at the Hamilton Princess & Beach Club and images that are circulating via social media. It appears that a male came onto the property of the hotel and began behaving in a threatening manner toward guests of the hotel.

An investigation into this incident is now underway and officers are also liaising with the relevant hotel personnel to minimize the likelihood of a recurrence.

Drowning at Horseshoe Bay Beach: 39 Year Old American Jacolbe Fleming

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 39 year old American Jacolbe Fleming and extends sincere condolences to his family and friends. Mr. Fleming, from Jonesboro Georgia, apparently was swimming at Horseshoe Bay Beach in Southampton at 2:26pm on Thursday June 7th when it appears that he ran into difficultly in the water resulting in lifeguards performing CPR. He was subsequently taken to the hospital via ambulance where he was pronounced dead at 3pm.
