Injured Pedestrian Recovering in Stable Condition on General Ward

At last check this morning (May 22nd) the 53 year old male pedestrian hurt around 1am Monday, May 21st during a hit and run involving a motorcyclist on Parliament Street in the City of Hamilton – near the junction with Church Street – was recovering in stable condition on a general ward at the hospital.

Leaving the scene of this collision was a callous act. Police continue to appeal for any witnesses to come forward and urge the motorcyclist involved to turn themselves in to Hamilton Police Station.

Witnesses Sought After Pedestrian Hurt by ‘Hit & Run’ Motorcyclist [Updated]

Approximately 1am Monday, May 21st police and fellow first responders attended a reported collision on Parliament Street in the City of Hamilton, near the junction with Church Street.

It appears that a motorcyclist riding along Parliament Street struck a male pedestrian, knocking him to the ground.

The offending motorcyclist then struck a nearby parked car, damaging its wing mirror, before falling to the ground.

Female Visitor Hurt in Rental Scooter Crash Airlifted Overseas

At last check this morning (May 16th) the 44 year old American woman hurt in a single vehicle rental scooter crash around 6:50pm Monday, May 14th on Somerset Road in Sandys parish, near the junction with Morgan Hill, had been airlifted overseas for further medical treatment.

She was initially admitted to the Intensive Care Unit at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital and was listed in stable condition yesterday (May 15th).

Female American Visitor Stable in ICU After Rental Scooter Crash [Updated]

Around 6:50pm Monday, May 14th police and fellow first responders were dispatched to a reported single vehicle rental scooter crash on Somerset Road in Sandys parish, near the junction with Morgan Hill.

It appears that the rider of a rental (50cc) scooter, believed to be a 44 year old South Carolina woman, was traveling west on Somerset Road when she struck a wall at the bottom of Scaur Hill and was thrown into the ocean approximately 15 feet below.

Man Arrested After Reported Disturbance Outside Woody’s in Sandys

Detectives are currently conducting inquiries regarding a reported disturbance outside Woody’s Sports Bar & Restaurant in Sandys parish that apparently occurred around 11:30pm Sunday, May 13th.

It appears that two men were involved in an altercation with two other men, resulting in two of the men being stabbed.

The individuals hurt – said to be a 47 year old Sandys parish man and a 45 year old Sandys parish man – were treated at the hospital for their injuries and later discharged.

Renewed Advisory After Recent ‘Chain Snatching’ Incidents

In the last week, two incidents of ‘chain snatching’ have been reported to police – with one of those incidents resulting in a man sustaining non-life threatening injuries.

In both instances the suspects and victims were men.

As a result of these latest incidents it is once again strongly recommended that members of the public consider not having their expensive jewellery on display in public and remain vigilant for any unknown or suspicious individuals approaching them.

Reported Missing 12 Year Old Boy Dean Lottimore Jr. Located

The Bermuda Police Service would like to thank the public for their assistance in locating 12 year old Dean Lottimore Jr.

He was found in the Pembroke area around 10 this morning (May 8th) safe and well.

Motorcyclist Hurt in North Shore Road Crash Stable on General Ward

At last check this morning (May 7th) the motorcyclist injured after crashing into wooden fencing along North Shore Road in Smith’s parish near the junction with Store Hill around 10pm Sunday, May 6th – said to be a 39 year old Hamilton parish man – was recovering in stable condition on a general ward at the hospital. Inquiries continue and any witnesses are asked to contact the main police telephone number 295-0011.

Rudy Smith Murder Investigation Remains Active, Appeal Continues

The Bermuda Police Service is renewing the witness appeal for any information related to the disappearance of Rudy Lamar Smith, who was last seen alive 7pm Monday, 9th July 2012.

The disappearance of Rudy Smith is being treated as a murder investigation and remains an active case.

Detectives still believe that there are members of the community who have relevant information regarding what happened to Mr. Smith and that those persons are reluctant to come forward.

The investigative team understands that such individuals are apprehensive about revealing what they know – but also believes that their conscience is telling them to do the right thing.

We continue to appeal to those persons with any information that can help solve this case to come forward, so that the still grieving family of Rudy Smith can finally have closure and justice for their murdered son, brother, cousin and friend.

Reported Single Vehicle Damage Only Van Crash in Pembroke

Around 11pm Monday, April 30th police and fellow first responders were dispatched to a reported single vehicle damage only van crash on St. John’s Road in Pembroke.

Initial information suggests that the vehicle involved was being driven along St. John’s Road when it struck a wall between Pitts Bay Road and Cox’s Hill Road, ending up on its side.
