Burglary - Around 1:10pm on Tuesday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Knapton Hill, Smith’s parish residence. The complainant stated that sometime between 10am and 12:30pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into the home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole three pairs of Nike sneakers. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

The Bermuda Police Service continues to advise the motoring public to slow down and to drive as well as ride responsibly on the island’s roads. Additionally, we urge those traveling in cars to use their seatbelts at all times and make sure any children traveling in the vehicle are appropriately restrained. Those traveling on motorcycles should always fasten their helmets and avoid making a third lane.

Confirmed Firearm Incidents - Around 10:45pm on Sunday, Police received a report of a gunshot in the Club Road, Smith’s parish area. Police attended the scene a short time later and conducted a thorough search of the vicinity. Forensic evidence found suggested that a firearm had been discharged; however no one has reported being injured. An investigation into this matter is underway.

March 19 - Daily Report

Vehicle Fire - Around 1:50am today, Police received a report of a vehicle fire at a White Hill View, Sandys parish residence. The Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service also attended the scene. On arrival officers observed a car parked outside the home ablaze. The fire was extinguished by Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service personnel. The interior of the vehicle was damaged. There were no reported injuries. An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact the Somerset Criminal Investigation Unit on 234-1010.

March 18 - Daily Report

Injury RTC - Around 7:30am today, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Middle Road in Warwick near the Warwick Post Office involving an auxiliary cycle and a pedestrian. It appears that the pedestrian, a 10 year old Warwick boy, was walking across the pedestrian crossing after traffic had stopped to allow him to cross. However, the auxiliary cycle was traveling east on Middle Road and collided with the boy. The rider of the auxiliary cycle, a 17 year old young man from Sandys parish, sustained facial injuries. The pedestrian’s injuries are unknown at this time. Both injured parties were taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment.

March 17 - Daily Report

Injury RTC - Around 2:15pm on Tuesday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Point Finger Road in Paget involving a car and a motorcycle. It appears that the car and the motorcycle were traveling in opposite directions when the vehicles collided. The rider of the motorcycle, a 36 year old man, complained of pain to his left hand and left foot. He was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment. The driver of the car, a 72 year old Warwick woman, was not injured. The vehicles received relatively minor damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Injury RTC - Around 10:45pm on Sunday, Police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on South Road in Paget in the vicinity of the Botanical Gardens. It appears that a motorcycle was traveling east on South Road when the rider, a 37 year old Smith’s parish man, lost control and collided with a wall. The Smith’s parish man was found lying in the road by a passing motorist. He was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment of a head injury (suspected concussion). His injury is not believed to be life threatening. The motorcycle received minor damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

March 12 - Daily Report

Injury RTC - At 5pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on Somerset Road in Sandys parish near the junction with Cambridge Road. It appears that a motorcycle was traveling west on Somerset Road when the rider, an 18 year old Pembroke woman, lost control. As a result the motorcycle fell to the ground. The rider complained of pain to her back and hip while her passenger, a 17 year old Pembroke woman, sustained an injury to her right foot. Both were taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment. The motorcycle received minor damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

March 11 - Daily Report

Impaired Driving - Around 1:45am today, Police attended a report of a vehicle stationary in the middle of the road at the junction of Happy Valley Road and King Street in Pembroke. On arrival officers observed the driver, a 43 year old Pembroke man, slumped over the SUV’s steering wheel with the engine running; the Pembroke man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and detained after failing the alco-analyser test. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
