Damage Only RTC - At 8:15am today, Police attended a reported damage only road traffic collision on Middle Road in Paget near the junction with Scarrington Hill involving two cars and a van. It appears that all three vehicles were traveling east on Middle Road with the two cars in front of the van when the collision occurred. There were no reported injuries to the drivers of the vehicles; a 29 year old Pembroke man (van driver), an 83 year old Sandys parish man and a 40 year old Hamilton parish woman respectively. The van received moderate front end damage, while one of the cars was extensively damaged (front & rear).

The Bermuda Police Service continues to advise the motoring public to slow down and to drive as well as ride responsibly on the island’s roads. Additionally, we urge those traveling in cars to use their seatbelts at all times and make sure any children traveling in the vehicle are appropriately restrained. Those traveling on motorcycles should always fasten their helmets and avoid making a third lane.

Damage Only RTC - Around 6:10pm on Sunday, Police attended a reported single vehicle damage only road traffic collision on Harrington Sound Road in Hamilton parish near the junction with Glendon Drive. It appears that a car was traveling west on Harrington Sound Road when the driver, a 28 year old St. George’s man, lost control and collided with a wall. The St. George’s man was not injured; however the car received front end damage. The wall was also damaged. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Assault - Around 12:35am today, Police received a report of an assault at Swizzle Inn on South Road in Warwick. It appears that an altercation took place between three men at the premises. As a result the victim, a 27 year old Warwick man, received a stab wound to his back and a swollen right eye. He was taken to KEMH for treatment of his injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening. The Warwick man was unable to recall how he was injured and declined to make a formal complainant.

Robbery - Around 9:10pm on Wednesday, Police received a report of a robbery on Trinity Church Road in Hamilton parish near the junction with North Shore Road. It appears that the complainant, a 48 year old Hamilton parish woman, was riding her motorcycle along Trinity Church Road when she stopped to assist a young female motorcyclist who appeared to be in distress. As the Hamilton parish woman did the so, the young female motorcyclist held the complainant’s motorcycle handlebars while an unknown man appeared from the nearby bushes and took the complainant’s small suitcase. The complainant was allowed to leave the scene afterwards. She was not injured.

Injury RTC/Impaired Driving - At 10:10pm on Tuesday, Police attended a reported serious road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of Reid Street and King Street in the City of Hamilton involving a motorcycle and a pedestrian. It appears that a car stopped to allow the pedestrian, a 47 year old Pembroke man, to cross the road via the marked pedestrian crossing. As he was doing so a motorcycle traveling up Spurling Hill into the City of Hamilton collided with him. As a result, the pedestrian was thrown on to the sidewalk and the motorcycle collided with a nearby parked motorcycle.

Disturbance - Around 2:30am on Saturday, Police received a report of a disturbance at The Bistro at The Beach on Front Street in the City of Hamilton. It appears that as several male patrons were leaving the premises, a physical altercation took place between some of them. Officers attended the area and used the deterrent spray ‘Captor’ in an attempt to subdue those involved; however, the men quickly left the scene. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.

May 7 - Daily Report

Injury RTC - Around 8pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on North Shore Road in Pembroke near the junction with Spanish Point Road involving a car and a motorcycle. It appears that the vehicles were traveling in opposite directions on North Shore Road when they collided. As a result the motorcycle rider, a 22 year old Devonshire woman, was injured. She was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment of her injuries, which appeared to be relatively minor. The driver of the car, a 32 year old Pembroke woman, was not injured. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Burglary - Around 8:15am today, Police received a report of a burglary at Smatt’s Cycle Livery Ltd. in Southampton. It appears that sometime overnight an unknown culprit gained entry into the premises. The culprit stole a quantity of cash. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
