Foul Play Not Suspected in Two Sudden Deaths Last Week

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the sudden death of 52 year old Stephen Savage of Sandys as well as 43 year old Heidi Capuano of Warwick in separate incidents on Tuesday, September 6th and extends condolences to their family and friends.

Both Mr. Savage and Ms. Capuano were found unresponsive in their respective homes.

However, foul play is not suspected in either incident.

Motorcyclist Remains Critical in ICU After Pembroke Crash

The investigation into the circumstances of a reported single vehicle motorcycle crash at the junction of Lane Hill and Cavendish Road in Pembroke around 2:30am Saturday, September 3rd continues.

At last check 7:55am today (Friday, September 9th) the 36 year old male motorcyclist injured in the incident remains in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit in critical condition.

Public Assistance Results in One of Two Stolen Motorcycles Recovered

The Bermuda Police Service would like to thank the public for their response to an appeal regarding two stolen motocross bikes taken from the Bermuda Motorsports Park in St. David’s earlier this week.

The stolen Yamaha 250cc motocross bike has now been recovered after a member of the public located it hidden in bushes in St. George’s.

Police officers subsequently attended the area and retrieved the motorcycle, which has been preserved for forensic examination.

Theft of Two Motorcycles From Bermuda Motorsports Park

Around 12:30pm on Tuesday, September 6th a theft of two motorcycles was reported from Bermuda Motorsports Park in St. David’s.

It appears that sometime between 6pm Monday, September 5th and 11am Tuesday, September 6th an unknown culprit or culprits gained entry to the grounds and several storage containers, stealing a white Cobra 65cc motocross bike featuring pink, purple and black graphics along with an all-white Yamaha YZ 250F motocross bike with black rims.

Man Arrested on Suspicion of Possessing Ammunition

Around 2:15pm on Monday, September 5th police and first responders attended a reported collision in the Mullet Bay Road, St. George’s area where a 21 year old man was found lying near the roadside.

The individual was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment of non-life threatening injuries and later arrested on suspicion of possessing ammunition.

Reported Serious Two Motorcycle Collision in Paget

Around 10:15pm on Wednesday, August 31st first responders were dispatched to a reported serious two motorcycle collision on South Road in Paget in the vicinity of the Paget stop lights.

Details remain limited at this time but both riders, a 26 year old Pembroke man and a 21 year old Hamilton parish man, were injured and taken to hospital for treatment.

Both were later discharged. Traffic was diverted while the scene was processed and inquiries continue.

Witness Appeal: Incident at Berkeley Road, Mount Hill Pembroke Area

Around 3:15pm on Tuesday, August 30th police officers responded to a reported disturbance in the Berkeley Road, Mount Hill Pembroke area.

Details are still emerging, but the incident apparently involved some young people and adults.

A 14 year old Pembroke male injured in the commotion was treated at the scene by attending police officers and EMTs before being transported via ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, where the teen was medically assessed and discharged later that same day.

Man Treated at Hospital for Non-Life Threatening Gunshot Wound [Updated]

Around 1:20pm today, Monday August 29th, a 23 year old Pembroke man attended King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound to his hand.

His injury is not considered life threatening.

Details are limited at this time; however the incident apparently occurred in the Fentons Drive Pembroke area.

2nd Arson Attempt in Pembroke

Police and Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service responded to a report of a fire that took place in the doorway of The Athletic Club in the City of Hamilton this morning (Friday) at 5am.

It appears that someone threw a flammable liquid at the door which resulted in a small fire. The  BFRS subsequently extinguished the fire which only damaged the carpet at the front entrance of the establishment. 

Police are treating this as a suspicious incident and we are appealing to anyone who may have seen this incident or may have any information that may assist in this investigation to please contact CID on 295-0011.

Attempted Arson in Pembroke

At 3:12am on Wednesday Bermuda Police Service along with Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service attended a report of an attempted arson that took place at # 5 Happy Valley Road in Pembroke. It appears that someone poured a flammable liquid outside of the door and when the occupant opened the door she noticed the area in flames. The fire was quickly however was quickly extinguished by BFRS and  no one was injured and  an investigation into this incident is now underway. Police are interested in speaking with anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area to please contact the CID on 295-0011.
