Disturbance

Around 11:55pm on Wednesday, Police attended a reported disturbance on Middle Town Road in Pembroke. On arrival officers observed a crowd of approximately 50 people in the area. As officers in Police vehicles drove through the area several bottles were thrown, causing damage to the windscreen of one of the Police vehicles.

Breaking & Entering

Around 2:10 this morning, Police attended a reported breaking and entering at a Palm Valley, Southampton residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainants, who stated that they awoke around 1:55am to find a woman in their home attempting to remove a Louis Vuitton purse. The complainants then detained the suspect, a 40 year old Southampton woman, until Police arrived.

Around 7pm on Monday, Police attended a reported breaking and entering at a Loyalty Estate, Sandy’s parish residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainants who stated that sometime between 4pm and 6pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into their home. The culprit stole $350 in cash and several items of jewelry. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Assault

At 6pm on Sunday, Police attended a reported assault at the Henry VIII restaurant on South Road in Southampton. It appears that the victim, a 47 year old Paget man, was a passenger in a car that was about to enter the parking area of the restaurant as 3 motorcycles were exiting. One of the cycles passed on the nearside of the car, nearly causing a collision.

Around 3:50 this morning, Police on mobile patrol traveling east on Watford Bridge were flagged down by three men who reported they were assaulted by two men on motorcycles.

Robbery

At 3:25 this morning, Police attended a reported robbery at King’s Square in St. George’s. It appears that the victim, a 23 year old man (who is a Canadian visitor to the island), was standing with another man at the junction of York Street and King’s Square when he was approached by the suspect who asked for money.

Sudden Death

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm that the death of 52 year old Jean-Paul Gauthier of Smith’s parish was as a result of natural causes. Around 12:10am on Monday, Mr. Gauthier was found in an unresponsive state by a member of staff in Flanagan’s Sports Bar on Front Street in the City of Hamilton and was later pronounced dead at the scene by an on-call physician.

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 52 year old Jean-Paul Gauthier of Smith’s parish. At 12:55pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported attempted breaking and entering at a Tribe Road #1, Pembroke residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that earlier she heard a loud noise outside and went to investigate. She observed a man fleeing from outside a neighbour’s residence and alerted Police.

Disturbance

Around 1:35 this morning, Police attended the Robin Hood Pub & Restaurant on Richmond Road in Pembroke, after receiving a complaint of loud music. On arrival, a scuffle occurred between two groups of men. While attempting to restore order, Police recovered a blue vinyl covered object which was later discovered to be a taser. Shortly thereafter, the crowd promptly dispersed resulting in no arrests.
