19 Year Old Motorcyclist Injured in Collision With Water Truck

A nineteen year old male was this morning taken to hospital following a serious road traffic collision involving the motorcycle he was riding and a water truck.

The collision occurred at around 8:18 AM, at the junction of St. Mark's Road and Verdmont Road in Smith’s Parish.

The injured man sustained a laceration and fractures to his face. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Witnesses Sought: Disturbance Near City of Hamilton Bus Terminal

Around 4:40pm Wednesday, November 13th police officers responded to reports of a disturbance involving a group of males in the City of Hamilton, near the City of Hamilton bus terminal. Further information suggested that one of the individuals was in possession of a knife.

Three young men that fit the description of those involved – a 15 year old, a 17 year old and an 18 year old – were arrested in the area a short time afterward in connection with this incident and later released on police bail pending further inquiries.

Inquiries Continue After Motorcycle Crash Leaves Two Males Injured

Inquiries continue regarding a reported single vehicle motorcycle crash that occurred around 1:15am Wednesday, November 13th on Somerset Road in Sandys parish near the junction with Morgan Hill.

Police, Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service and ambulance personnel were dispatched to the scene.

Motorcycle Stolen From Behind City Hall [Returned Intact]

The Bermuda Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a silver grey Honda Sh-i, license plate CP 627, which was reported stolen from behind City Hall sometime between 9:30am and 9:55am today, (Tuesday) November 12th.

The complainant stated the bike was locked and left in what was thought to be a safe space. Inside of the bike was a blue rain suit and a grey helmet.

BPS Liaising With The Swizzle South Shore About Scantily Clad Man [Updated]

The Bermuda Police Service is aware of the videos circulating on social media showing a barely clothed man socialising at The Swizzle South Shore Pub & Restaurant on South Road in Warwick recently.

The incident was not reported to police at the time it occurred.

However, follow up is already underway with the management of that liquor licenced premises to avoid any recurrence and to remind them of their responsibilities.

Scam Alert: Butterfield Bank Online Account Verification Phishing E-mail

Members of the public are reminded to be wary of any e-mail claiming to be from a local bank that requests verification of online banking credentials or username and password details – as such e-mails are undoubtedly fake.

The latest example is a deceptive e-mail that provides a link for the recipient to verify their online Butterfield bank account. If you receive this e-mail, delete it –  do not click on any links or open any attachments.

Traffic Stop Turns Into Police Pursuit Last Friday: Four Men Arrested

Around 12:30pm Friday, October 25th police officers on mobile patrol in a police vehicle along South Road in Paget observed that a car traveling east along the same road was unlicensed and one of the occupants was acting suspiciously, changing his shirt. As a result, a traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle in the parking area near Ice Queen.

The officers approached the car – which had four men inside – and instructed the driver to turn off the vehicle, which he did.

Inquiries Underway After Unconfirmed Firearm Incident in Pembroke

Around 9:30pm Monday, October 28th police officers responded to a report of a single gunshot in the Spruce Lane, Pembroke area.

So far there is no forensic evidence to substantiate the report that a firearm was discharged and no one has attended King Edward VII Memorial Hospital seeking treatment for a gunshot wound.

Two Burglary Suspects Arrested, Residents Still Advised to be Vigilant

Two suspects have been arrested in connection with recent burglaries and inquiries continue regarding those matters.

However, residents are still encouraged to be vigilant for suspicious individuals in their neighbourhoods and to secure their homes by ensuring all windows and doors are locked before leaving their property unattended.

Criminals will look for insecure houses and unlocked vehicles as they are easier targets.
