Update: Sudden Death - The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 39 year old David Mutch of Sandys parish. Mr. Mutch’s body was found by family members inside his Wreck Road, Sandys parish residence around 11:10am on Thursday. He was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene by an on call physician at 1:30pm. An autopsy is anticipated; however foul play is not suspected. The Bermuda Police Service extends condolences to the family & friends of the deceased.

Injury RTC - Around 9:30pm on Tuesday, Police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on Twin Lane Drive in Pembroke. It appears that a car was traveling along Twin Lane Drive when the driver, a 64 year old Pembroke man, lost control and collided with a wall. The Pembroke man was injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment and later released. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. The car received extensive front end damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

The Bermuda Police Service continues to advise the motoring public to slow down and to drive as well as ride responsibly on the island’s roads. Additionally, we urge those traveling in cars to use their seatbelts at all times and make sure any children traveling in the vehicle are appropriately restrained. Those traveling on motorcycles should always fasten their helmets and avoid making a third lane.

Robbery - Around 12:15am on Monday, Police received a report of a robbery. It appears that around 12am that day the victim, a 46 year old Pembroke man, was walking along Woodlands Road in Pembroke when he was accosted by two unknown men in a silver car. The suspects took a quantity of cash before making good their escape. The Pembroke man was not injured. The suspects are described as two black men dressed in black clothing; one wearing an earring. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.

Arrest - The Bermuda Police Service can confirm that a 43 year old Sandys parish man is currently in Police custody following an incident that occurred around 10am Thursday on North Shore Road in Devonshire near Loyal Hill Pass. Inquiries into this matter are ongoing.

Injury RTC - At 9:45pm on Wednesday, Police and first responders attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on North Shore Road in Pembroke near Princess Estate Road involving a car and a motorcycle. It appears that both vehicles were traveling along North Shore Road when they collided. The rider of the motorcycle, a 26 year old Pembroke man, was injured. His injuries are not considered serious and he was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. The driver of the car, a 49 year old Devonshire woman, was not injured. The motorcycle was extensively damaged while the car received moderate damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Injury RTC - Around 4:10pm on Tuesday, Police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on Rural Drive in Paget. It appears that an unattended truck parked in the area rolled downhill into a house. The truck driver, a 29 year old Sandys parish man, received a minor leg injury after returning to the vehicle and attempting to stop it rolling downhill. The truck was damaged as well as the Rural Drive property. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Burglary - Around 4am on Sunday, Police received a report of a burglary at a North Hill, Pembroke residence. It appears that sometime between midnight and 3:55am that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into the home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a handbag containing a quantity of cash and personal items. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Robbery - Around 1:30am on Friday, Police received a report of a robbery. It appears that the victim, a 25 year old Paget man, was walking along Gorham Road in Pembroke when he was accosted by two unknown men on a motorcycle. One of the suspects brandished a bladed article and demanded money before both suspects left the scene with the victim’s wallet containing personal items as well as a BlackBerry cellular phone. The Paget man was not injured. The suspects are described as two light brown skinned men, with the main suspect additionally described as 5’9” - 5’11” tall. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
