The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 32 year old Eric Morrison. Mr. Morrison, a Jamaican national contract worker, was pronounced dead by an on call physician at KEMH around 12:40pm Sunday after sustaining head injuries in a serious single vehicle road traffic collision on Glebe Road in Pembroke around 11:50am.
Around 9:25pm on Thursday, Police received a report of a breaking and entering at an Ord Road, Warwick residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainants who stated that sometime between 10:30am and 4pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into their home. The culprit stole approximately $600 in cash. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
At 11:35pm on Wednesday, Police on mobile patrol on Mullet Bay Road in St. George’s received a report of a handbag snatch. The victim, a 72 year old female American visitor to the island, stated that she was walking along Mullet Bay Road when she noticed a man walking up the hill in her direction. When he got closer he lunged at her, grabbing her purse.
Around 2:55pm on Tuesday, Police arrested a 26 year old Pembroke man for suspicion of possessing a controlled drug on Parsons Road in Pembroke. The man was also found with several items of jewelry on his person. Inquiries are underway.
At 10am on Monday, Police received a report of an assault. The victim, a 24 year old Pembroke woman, stated that she was outside Swinging Doors nightclub on Court Street in Pembroke around 2:30am on Monday when she was approached by the suspect, a 19 year old St. George’s woman. It appears that the two women were talking to each other when the St.
Around 10pm on Sunday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Khyber Pass in Warwick. It appears that a silver motorcycle was traveling south on Khyber Pass when it was in collision with an unknown vehicle which did not stop. As a result the rider of the motorcycle, a 57 year old Warwick man, sustained facial injuries and a broken leg.
Around 11:30pm on Thursday, Police attended a report of a vehicle on fire. The Bermuda Fire Service also attended the scene with one appliance and five firefighters. On arrival, officers spoke with the owner of the car. She stated that she parked her car on Roberts Avenue in Devonshire at 8:30pm.
At 1:40pm on Wednesday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Somerset Road in Sandy’s parish, near the junction with Broome Street. It appears that a silver Peugeot was traveling west on Somerset Road when the driver lost control of the car, striking a red Daihatsu traveling in the opposite direction before colliding with a wall, causing the Peugeot to overturn.
Around 2:50pm on Tuesday, Police attended Horseshoe Bay beach on South Road in Southampton following a reported theft. On arrival officers spoke with the complainants, who are American visitors to the island. The visitors stated that around 1:15pm they were swimming near Chaplin Bay when they observed a man on the beach running up an embankment carrying their black ‘Oakley’ backpack.
Around 6:30pm on Monday, Police attended a reported theft from Devil’s Hole Hardware on Devil’s Hole Hill in Smith’s parish. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that around 5:45pm a man entered the store and asked about air compressors. The complainant informed him that there were none in the store.
