Around 7pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of South Road and Brighton Hill Road in Devonshire. It appears that a car was traveling south on Brighton Hill Road when the driver, a 71 year old Devonshire man, lost control due to a pre-existing medical condition. As a result the car went through the intersection and collided with a utility pole on the opposite side of South Road. The 71 year old man sustained cuts & abrasions to both knees and was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment. The car received extensive front end damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
Burglary
Burglary-Around 6:20pm on Wednesday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Watlington Lane North, Devonshire residence. The complainants stated that sometime between 7:30am and 6pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into their home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a 50” Samsung flat screen TV, a silver digital camera and a quantity of jewelry. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

At 5:15pm on Wednesday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Pitts Bay Road, Pembroke residence. The complainant stated that sometime between 8:50am and 4:50pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into his home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a 32” Sony flat screen TV. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
Around 4:35pm on Tuesday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Harrington Sound Road in Smith’s parish near the junction with Manor House Drive. It appears that a truck was traveling west on Harrington Sound Road when the vehicle collided with the Manor House Bridge, causing extensive damage to the bridge and the cab of the truck. The driver, a 47 year old St. George’s man, sustained a small cut to his nose. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Around 3:40am on Sunday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Somerset Road in Sandy’s parish near the junction with the Railway Trail (Somerset Bridge area) involving a car and an auxiliary cycle. It appears that the car was traveling east on Somerset Road and the auxiliary cycle was traveling in the opposite direction when the vehicles collided. The rider of the cycle, a 17 year old Warwick woman sustained cuts & abrasions to her legs and feet. The driver of the car, a 54 year old Sandy’s parish woman, was not injured. Both vehicles received moderate front end damage. The 17 year old Warwick woman was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Injury RTC/Impaired Driving- Around 3:40am on Sunday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Somerset Road in Sandy’s parish near the junction with the Railway Trail (Somerset Bridge area) involving a car and an auxiliary cycle. It appears that the car was traveling east on Somerset Road and the auxiliary cycle was traveling in the opposite direction when the vehicles collided.
At 10:10pm on Saturday, Police received a report of a robbery at a Rose Hill Road, Southampton residence. The victims, a 66 year old Southampton man and his wife, a 66 year old Southampton woman, stated that at 9:50pm they arrived home and parked their car in the driveway. At that time, an unknown man approached the car brandishing a weapon and demanding money. The Southampton man did not give in to the suspect’s demands and was punched in the face, sustaining a laceration. The assailant then grabbed a black bag containing a DVD and personal items from the back seat before making good his escape. The victim declined medical treatment. His wife was not injured.
Around 9:35pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Ord Road in Warwick near the junction with Banana Lane. It appears that a car was traveling east on Ord Road when the driver, an 18 year old Warwick man, lost control and collided with a parked car. The Warwick man and his male front seat passenger sustained head contusions. The eastbound car received extensive front end damage while the parked car received extensive rear end damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
