At 1:10am today, Police attended a reported robbery on Woodlands Road in Pembroke. On arrival officers spoke with the victims, a 40 year old Pembroke man and a 53 year old Devonshire man. They stated that around 12:40am they were walking along Woodlands Road towards Bulls Head car park when two unknown men on a motorcycle approached them. The suspects assaulted the victims with crash helmets, took a quantity of cash from them and then made good their escape. Both the 40 year old Pembroke man and the 53 year old Devonshire man were taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment of their injuries. The Pembroke man remains at the hospital receiving treatment for facial injuries, while the Devonshire man was treated for his injuries and later released.
Assault - At 10:45pm on Wednesday, Police received a report of an assault on Bowes Lane in Sandy’s parish. It appears that around 10:30pm that day the victim, a 25 year old Sandy’s parish man, was sitting on a motorcycle in the Bowes Lane area when a group of unknown men approached him brandishing blunt objects. The group of men assaulted the victim, striking him in the head and body. The assailants then fled the immediate area on foot before making good their escape in two unknown cars traveling south on Bowes Lane and east on Malabar Road.

The suspects are described as young men of small build wearing black clothing.
Injury RTC - Around 9:20am on Wednesday, Police received a report of a road traffic collision resulting in injury on Granaway Lane in Southampton involving a van and a pedestrian. It appears that around 7:25am the pedestrian, an 11 year old Southampton boy, was walking along Granaway Lane when a white van collided with him, knocking the boy to the ground. The van did not stop. The victim sustained a swollen & bruised left knee, scratches to his right leg and a swollen right eye. The white van is described as having tinted windows and apparently leaves the Granaway Lane area around 7:30am each morning.

It appears that a car was traveling west on Harbour Road when the driver, a 29 year old Southampton man, lost control and collided with the sidewalk causing the vehicle to overturn. The Southampton man sustained abrasions to his left hand; however he declined medical attention. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and detained after failing the alco-analyser test. The car received moderate damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Burglary
Vehicle Fire - At 4:50am on Sunday, Police attended a report of vehicles on fire on York Street in St. George’s. The Bermuda Fire Service also attended the scene and extinguished the blaze, which engulfed two cars parked outside of Robertson’s Drug Store. Both vehicles were destroyed by the flames. An investigation is underway into the cause of the fire; arson has not been ruled out. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the St. George’s Criminal Investigation Unit on 293-2222.
