Injury RTC - Around 6:45 this morning, Police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on South Road in Smith’s parish near the junction with Zuill’s Park Road. It appears that a motorcycle was traveling east on South Road when the rider, a 45 year old Warwick man, lost control and fell to the ground. The Warwick man sustained facial injuries and was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment. The motorcycle received relatively minor damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
Burglary
The Bermuda Police Service continues to advise the motoring public to slow down and to drive as well as ride responsibly on the island’s roads. Additionally, we urge those traveling in cars to use their seatbelts at all times and make sure any children traveling in the vehicle are appropriately restrained. Those traveling on motorcycles should always fasten their helmets and avoid making a third lane.

Damage Only RTC/Impaired Driving - At 12:50am today, Police attended a reported single vehicle damage only road traffic collision on Somerset Road in Sandy’s parish near the junction with Tankard Lane. It appears that a car was traveling east on Somerset Road when the driver, a 22 year old St. George’s woman, lost control and collided with a wall. The driver was not injured; however she was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and detained after failing the alco-analyser test. Her front seat passenger, a 22 year old Sandy’s parish woman, was also uninjured. The car received extensive damage to its front end and right side.
Injury RTC - At 12:10am today, Police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on St. David’s Road in St. George’s, near the junction with Jacobs Point Road. It appears that a car was traveling west on St. David’s Road when the driver, a 24 year old Hamilton parish woman, lost control and collided with an embankment. Both the driver and her front seat passenger, a 27 year old Southampton woman, were injured and taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment. The car received extensive front end damage. The driver was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
Injury RTC - Around 3:45am today, Police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on Crow Lane in Paget near the junction with Corkscrew Hill. It appears that an auxiliary cycle was traveling east on Crow Lane when the rider, a 34 year old Smith’s parish woman lost control, collided with the sidewalk and fell to the ground. The victim sustained a laceration to her forehead; however, her injury is not believed to be life threatening. She was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment. The cycle was not damaged. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
Robbery - At 6:45am on Tuesday, Police received a report of a robbery. The victim, a 30 year old Hamilton parish man, stated that earlier he was riding a motorcycle along Water Street in St. George’s when an unknown individual knocked him off the motorcycle. The offender then took the motorcycle the Hamilton parish man was riding, as well as his helmet, a quantity of cash and a red & black cellular phone before making good their escape. It is unclear if the victim was injured; however, he was apparently knocked unconscious during the incident. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact the St.

Injury RTC - Around 9:40pm on Sunday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of North Shore Road and My Lord’s Bay Road in Hamilton parish involving two motorcycles. It appears that one motorcycle was traveling west on North Shore Road and the other motorcycle was traveling along My Lord’s Bay Road when the cycles collided at the junction. The rider of the motorcycle traveling on North Shore Road, a 32 year old Hamilton parish man, complained of pain to his collar bone while his pillion passenger, a 29 year old Hamilton parish woman, sustained abrasions to her arms and legs.
Burglary - Around 12:40pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported burglary at a Greendale Lane, Warwick residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 10am and 12:30pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into his home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a Sony LCD TV. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Recovered Jewelry - The St. George’s Criminal Investigation Unit is continuing to appeal for any residents that live in the areas of Chapel of Ease Road/Stokes Point Road in St. David’s and the surrounding St. George’s community who have been the victim of a burglary recently to contact them at 278-5105 or Detective Sergeant Jason Smith at 515-0864 in order to identify jewelry seized after a man was arrested in connection with a series of burglaries that occurred in the east end over the past few months.
