At 10:25pm on Saturday, Police received a report of a boat sinking near Dockyard (inside the camber) with five people onboard. Marine Police initially searched the area but found no trace of the vessel or the five occupants. However, after receiving information that the occupants of the vessel swam ashore, Marine Police located the five men on the south basin camber.
Around 12 midnight, Police received a report of a robbery on Richmond Road in Pembroke. On arrival Police spoke to the victim, a 45 year old Devonshire woman, who stated that a man known to her approached her at the 24 hour Esso City Tigermart on Richmond Road and demanded that she give him the keys to her car. She refused and the man punched her in the face.
The Bermuda Police Service is aware of recent incidents where four wheeled vehicles were removed from garages and thefts from unattended/unlocked vehicles took place, particularly in the Addendum Lane, Pembroke area.
Around 10:30 this morning, Police received a report of a road traffic collision resulting in injury involving a rental cycle and a bus. It appears that a male tourist riding a rental cycle east on Paynters Road in St. George’s near Tuckers Point Golf Club collided with a bus traveling in the opposite direction.
At 10 this morning, Police received a report of a theft. The complainant stated that his white 8’ Bermuda built punt was removed from the eastern end of the Riddell’s Bay Condos in Warwick. The punt was last seen on Monday, June 27, 2005 in the complainant’s yard. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
Breaking & Entering
Around 11:45pm on Monday, Police attended a report of a car on fire at a Harrington Sound Road, Smith’s parish residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that he parked his vehicle outside the residence around 8pm. At 11pm another occupant of the residence informed the complainant that the blue Mitsubishi Pajero was ablaze. As a result, the vehicle sustained rear end damage.
At 8:30 this morning, Police attended a report of a medical emergency at the junction of Court Street and Elliot Street in Pembroke. The victim, a 68 year old Pembroke man, was found at his Elliot Street residence lying in bed in an unresponsive state and was later pronounced dead at the scene by an on call physician. Foul play has not been ruled out.
Around 2:25 this morning, Police received a report of a robbery on North Shore Road in Hamilton parish, outside the Dub City Variety store. It appears that the victim, a 52 year old Pembroke man, was sitting on his motorcycle in the area around 12:30am when a group of men approached him. Two of the men are known to the victim.
At 8:50pm on Friday, Police attended a reported robbery in the garden at the junction of Middle Road and Burnt House Hill in Warwick. The victim, a 71 year old Sandy’s parish man, stated that he was bending over gardening when he was approached by an unknown man who pushed him to the ground and demanded money.
