Burglary Advisory - Once again the Bermuda Police Service would like to advise the public to remain vigilant regarding burglaries. Recently there have been a number of reported daytime burglaries in various parishes throughout the island. As a result, the public is encouraged to make sure all windows and doors are locked before leaving their homes unattended, even for short periods of time.

We also continue to recommend that all residents secure their valuables out of sight, record serial numbers of all items and take pictures of their possessions.

Collision - Around 4pm on Tuesday April 17th, police and first responders attended a reported collision at the junction of Malabar Road and Runway Lane in Sandys. It appears that a car and an auxiliary cycle were travelling along Malabar Road when they collided. The rider of the auxiliary cycle, a 16 year old Sandys male was injured and conveyed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment of a leg injury. He was later released. The driver, an 82 year old Sandys man was not injured. Inquiries into this incident are ongoing.

Burglary - Around 5:15am on Tuesday, April 17th police responded to a reported burglary at Robinson’s Marina on Somerset Road in Sandys parish. It appears that three unknown suspects gained entry into the service station, removed a quantity of cash and made good their escape. The offenders were wearing helmets at the time. The scene has been forensically examined and inquiries into this incident are ongoing. Detectives are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information regarding this matter to contact the Somerset Criminal Investigation Unit on 234-1010.

Update: Reported Serious Collision – Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses with regard to a reported serious single vehicle collision that occurred in the Palmetto Road, Roberts Avenue Devonshire area around 1am on Saturday April 14th. It appears that the victim, a 53 year old Smith’s parish man, was riding a motorcycle through the area when the incident occurred. He was injured and conveyed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. The Smith’s man has since been flown overseas for further medical treatment.

Collisions - Around 9:10pm on Thursday April 12th, police and first responders attended a single vehicle collision near the junction of Harbour Road and Warwick Park Road in Warwick. It appears that a motorcycle was travelling along Harbour Road when it collided with a parked Government trailer. The rider, a 48 year old Warwick man was conveyed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for a leg injury. The motorcycle was extensively damaged, however, his injuries are not believed to be life threatening. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Witnesses or anyone with any information are encouraged to contact PC Michael Charlton on 295-0011.

Collision - Around 2:50pm on Wednesday April 11th, police and first responders attended a reported collision on York Street in St. George’s between a car and a pedestrian. The pedestrian, a 75 year old St. George’s woman received a leg injury and was conveyed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. Her injuries are not believed to be life threatening. The driver, a 31 year old Warwick man, was not injured. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Serious Collision: Update - Around 12 noon on Monday April 9th, police responded to a report of a collision between a truck and a livery cycle. It appears that the vehicles were travelling along Malabar Road in Sandys when they collided. The rider, a 46 year old American female visitor, sustained serious leg injuries and was conveyed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. At last check she was in the Intensive Care Unit. It is anticipated that she will be flown overseas for further medical treatment. Inquiries into this incident are ongoing.

Missing Juvenile: Santina Harvey [Located] - The Bermuda Police Service is appealing for the public’s assistance in locating 17 year old Santina Harvey. The teenager was last seen on Sunday April 8th and is described as brown skinned of slim build, approximately 5’5” tall weighing around 125 pounds.

Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of 17 year old Santina Harvey is encouraged to contact the Vulnerable Persons Unit on 295-0011.

Missing Juvenile: India Burchall [Located] - The Bermuda Police Service is continuing to appeal for the public’s assistance in locating 14 year old India Burchall. The teenager is described as brown skinned; approximately 5’6” tall of slim build. She was reported missing on Friday, March 30th and apparently has been seen in Southampton and Warwick. Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of 14 year old India Burchall is encouraged to contact the Vulnerable Persons Unit on 295-0011. The public is reminded that harbouring a juvenile is an offence punishable under the law.

Confirmed Gunshot Report - Around 8:30pm on Tuesday April 3rd, police responded to reported gunshots in the Union Street, Pembroke area. Although forensic evidence collected confirmed a firearm had been discharged, there were no reported injuries. Inquiries into this matter are ongoing and any witnesses or anyone with any information is encouraged to contact the main police number at 295-0011 or the independent and confidential Crime Stoppers hotline on 800-8477.
